The radar sensor measures the distance to and the speed of vehicles ahead; the bracket determines the exact alignment of the sensor.

In a frontal impact the bracket is often bent or broken while the radar sensor itself is still usable. A deformed or damaged bracket can no longer be aligned correctly, which means the radar sensor cannot be calibrated properly.

This is an OEM part.

OE numbers

3Q0998561

Applicability

Volkswagen

Passat B8 (3G2, CB2), 08/2014 - 03/2024 - 1.4 TSI (CZCA, CZDA, CZEA), 1.4 GTE Hybrid (CUKC, DGEB), 1.5 TSI (DADA, DPCA), 1.6 TDI (DCXA, DCZA), 1.8 TSI (CJSA, CJSC), 2.0 TDI (CRLB, CUAA, CUPA, DBGA, DDAA, DFCA, DFEA, DFGA, DFHA, DSRA, DSRB, DTRA, DTSA, DTSB, DTUA), 2.0 TSI (CHHB, CJXA, CXDA, CZPB, DKZA, DNFE, DNUA, DRFA)

Passat B8 Variant (3G5, CB5), 08/2014 - 03/2024 - the same versions, plus 2.0 TDI 81 kW (DFGB)

Passat Alltrack B8 Variant (3G5, CB5), 05/2015 - 03/2024 - 1.4 TSI 4motion (CZEA), 2.0 TDI 4motion (CRLB, CUAA, CUPA, DDAA, DFCA, DFEA, DFGA, DFHA, DTUA), 2.0 TSI 4motion (CHHB, CJXA, DNFE, DNUA)

Skoda

Superb III (3V3), 03/2015 - 06/2024 - 1.4 TSI (CZCA, CZDA, CZEA), 1.4 TSI iV (DGEB), 1.5 TSI (DADA, DPCA), 1.6 TDI (DCXA, DCZA), 1.8 TSI (CJSA, CJSC), 2.0 TDI (CRLB, DDAA, DFCA, DFEA, DFGA, DFHA, DSRA, DSRB, DTRA, DTSA, DTSB, DTUA), 2.0 TFSI / 2.0 TSI (CHHB, CJXA, CZPB, DKZA, DNFE, DNUA)

Superb III Estate (3V5), 03/2015 - 06/2024 - the same versions

Applicability depends on the equipment level.
