Oil Pump Chain Kit 1.4 TSI – VAG OEM

Genuine VAG oil pump chain kit for the 1.4 TSI engine. The kit consists of the sprocket, the oil pump chain, the chain tensioner and the cover.

The oil pump chain drives the oil pump from the crankshaft. Wear of the chain, the sprocket or the chain tensioner causes play in the drive. This produces a rattling noise from the oil pump drive and can lead to low oil pressure. If the chain jumps off the sprocket or breaks, oil pressure is lost completely and serious engine damage follows.

Possible symptoms

A worn oil pump chain, sprocket or chain tensioner can cause symptoms such as:

• Rattling or ticking noise from the oil pump drive, especially on a cold start
• Oil pressure warning in the instrument cluster
• Low oil pressure when measured
• Complete loss of oil pressure if the chain jumps off or breaks

Important fitting information

PLEASE NOTE: always replace the chain together with the sprocket and the chain tensioner. A new chain on a worn sprocket wears prematurely, and a worn chain tensioner loses its preload.

Fit the parts according to the manufacturer's instructions and the specified torque values. Check the oil pressure and the operation of the oil pump after fitting. The oil pump chain is often replaced preventively during timing chain work.
