ACC Radar / Distance Sensor VAG OEM (5Q0907561K)
ACC Radar / Distance Sensor VAG - OEM 5Q0907561K
Original VAG ACC radar sensor (distance radar) for vehicles with adaptive cruise control and driver assistance systems.
The radar sensor is located behind the vehicle emblem and continuously measures the distance to and speed of the traffic ahead. This data is used by the adaptive cruise control (ACC), the distance warning and the emergency braking assistant (Front Assist), among others.
If the radar is faulty, damaged or out of position, these systems fail or are deactivated by the vehicle. Replacement is often required after a collision or front-end damage.
This is an original OEM VAG part. The radar may show light signs of use, such as small scratches or some dust, but the software is new. This means the radar can be coded to a vehicle, which is often not possible with used radars. After installation the radar still has to be coded and calibrated.
OE numbers
- 5Q0 907 561 K
- 5Q0 907 561
This radar is also available under part numbers ..N, ..A, ..B, ..H and ..G. Please contact us if you need one of those numbers.
Applicability
Which radar version a vehicle has depends on its equipment; different versions were fitted within the same model. Therefore always check the OE number of the fitted radar before ordering, or have the applicability checked using the registration number or chassis number.
Possible complaints and fault codes
A faulty, misaligned or uncalibrated ACC radar can cause the following complaints, among others:
- Adaptive cruise control unavailable or dropping out while driving
- "Front Assist: fault" or "Driver assistance systems: fault" message in the display
- Distance warning and emergency braking assistant inoperative
- Systems that only fail after a few kilometres of driving
Fault codes in control module 13 – distance control unit (J428), among others:
- C110300 – ACC sensor incorrectly adjusted / misaligned
- B200FF0 – internal fault in the distance control unit (radar sensor)
A complaint or fault code does not automatically mean the radar is faulty. First check the mounting position and the front bumper for damage or contamination, then the connector and wiring, and carry out a calibration. If calibration keeps failing or there is an internal fault in the distance control unit (J428), the radar has to be replaced.
Important installation information
PLEASE NOTE:
After installation the radar sensor must be coded and calibrated with suitable diagnostic equipment. Without correct calibration the adaptive cruise control and the related assistance systems will not work, or will not work reliably.
Calibration of this radar is in most cases carried out on the road (dynamic calibration); the correct diagnostic equipment is sufficient for this.
